many an artistic sojourn; to such diverse locations as France, Spain, Germany, Russia, Ireland and
the Americas.
He has exhibited successfully in the UK, Ireland, Germany and Russia and his work can be found
in public and private collections in many parts of the world.
He has worked in the past as an illustrator/cartoonist with the Herald and the Sunday Times
newspapers and for the past few years he has been lecturing in illustration at the City of Glasgow
College.
As well as his interest in art, John is a fine traditional musician, playing fiddle, whistle and flute. He
has played and recorded with a number of bands iincluding the Battlefield Band and Kentigern. He
is also founder member of the lively entertaining ensemble, 'The Caulbums Ceilidh', who perform
regularly at concerts and ceilidhs all over the world.
